In their most current video Luke and ReAnna talk about the “slow down”. They say it happens after the fourth of run to about mid-August. What are they talking about?

We experience a slow down in residential around July to the end of August.

Same here, all of spring through about mid summer is crazy busy and then it slows down a little bit. It’s been crazy! I haven’t ran any paid advertising this season, I’ll probably start running it in another week or so. How’s business been rowdy?

@AdamPWC, I’ve sold all of my commercial window cleaning accounts. I’ve been cleaning gutters. I’ve been earning about $350 per house on average. It has actually hit a major slow period. I only cleaned one or two roofs yesterday and this week I haven’t cleaned any yesterday, none today, I have one tomorrow then Friday I’m booked full. About two definite, three estimates and I’ve got two residential window accounts. It is just crazy, crazy busy. I’ve been using a blower which makes it seriously fast is nearly circumstance, then I use a Stihl SH86C to vaccuum the leaves and such up. Honestly, if they’re calling me it’s usually because their house has tons of trees and you can’t really tell the leaves from the gutter and the leaves from the roof.
After all of my expenses and everything I have $6,000 left over in savings that I sunk into equipment and such to invest with a kid who has the knowledge, but not the money to to start cutting firewood and get into logging. Having a ton of fun.
I was wondering, do you guys ever hit any other dry spells during the year? Any for gutter cleaning?

Meh the slow down is pretty normal. July - August then the tail end of Dec - March. Every year is the same. Of course weather can play a small roll but pretty much stays consistent.
But commercial and storefronts

Gutters about the same. We will officially shut down all residential services from dec 20th to March 1st. So no gutters then.
And usually just like window cleaning , from july to about Sept will be another slow spot.

I don’t have nay route work for now. I book my gutters a maximum of two days out and try not to let it get any farther than that because people always cancel on me. The route work make sit seriously rough on me because I travel seriously far to clean gutters. I would estimate I drive an hour and a half per outing, but I typically have three jobs per day. That seriously hurts me in cleaning windows on a route. I would have loved to have kept up my route work, but my schedule is very hectic. I’ll get it again, maybe next spring.

My slow down happens from mid August until a little after Labor Day. It happens in the residential world because people get those last vacations in, they get focused on back to school, etc. I’ve noticed that the phone picks back up as soon as the summer weather breaks.
There’s a reason that the HUGE happens this time every year, lots of cleaners have this slow down.
Once it picks back up it stays steady until xmas or until the snow starts coming.

Everytime i have the runs, that slows me way down. Worse so when custy wont let me use their toilet!

I typically will book in annual cleaning clients during this period. I would encourage the annual clients to call me during this slow down period and I will have more time to do interior exterior jobs that are larger sizes. And quicker booking time / turn around time. Be there within a few days versus a couple weeks during those peak periods. Spring cleaning is what most people want as soon as the sun starts coming through the windows after winter but they know they will spend a lot of time indoors through wite so won’t stain before it snows. Some people only have so much time per year to get their home cleaned and don’t mind the annual cleaning in July august.
