What’s your favorite channel?
For commercial
Ours is the Ettore super channel. Tried and true. Built like a tank and works the way it should.
For residential
Ettore master brass or Ettore stainless. Very accurate and again high quality channels.

Ettore stainless. Only. Ever.
Mine is channel 13, lets me know if I can clean the windows or not due to weather…kidding.
For commercial, I haven’t had an issue with the Unger Ninja Channel except it is a little bulky and there is some detailing I need to do after. It is well made. I really like the Moerman Liquidator with the fliq pad. I’m going to be trying out the Ettore Super Channel soon.
For residential, the Ettore master brass is great but I haven’t figured out how to change out the clips yet. Also the Moerman Liquidator can be fun here sometimes but I prefer it for stores.
I’m still somewhat new to cleaning windows. At this point I’ve been pretty into Unger equipment… I ordered the moerman excelerator specialty squeegee recently for pole work, and I’m excited to try it. Another one im looking forward to trying is the Unger ninja… it seems like a pretty sturdy tool to me
Unger makes great tools. The Excelerator imo is a must have. I mod it tho, I use a standard ettore channel .
It’s not easy but it’s not hard to use the excelerator on an extension pole. Start by using a shorter pole because a pole is really just an extension of your arm, the closer the excelerator the more control you will have, the farther out, the less control you will have. I started by using it on a 4 foot pole that extends out from a 2 foot pole, then I put it on my 3 section pole but didn’t extend out at all. Took me about a month to become decent with it. The angle adjuster on it is also helpful. I only use 25 and 40. 40 I use if I am really close but don’t have enough clearance to back out, 25 I use for everything else. Also I put my fliq pad on top of the handle because flipping it from the bottom out didn’t work, mine flips from the top out. You will like it, it’s fun.
Luke I am going to have to try that mod soon.
Luke do you mod it out of necessity or preference ?
I was going to respond the same way Jacob. " Channel 13"
I do it out of necessity. I’m not a fan of the liquidator clips.
Currently, I use the 22 inch stainless for storefronts. I dog earred the ends for less detailing. Ettore has been good for me so far. I want to explore with the superchannel, but that means getting a new set up. I use the ettore contour pro + . On residential I use brass channels. Residential I use 14" all the way down to 6". Anyone have any suggestions I am open to any professional advice for channel improvements

Hey @Luke
In this video you did not care for the Ettore Super WIDE BODY SQUEEGEE CHANNEL- Tool Reveiw - YouTube
Have you changed you mind or have they made some changed to the channel?
Anyone know if it will work with a Unger Ninja handle?
Cheers
NVM… I just had the dumb dumb switch turn off, you had been talking about the 18" not the larger ones… As you where
I have always loved the super channels. Before they had two versions. The 18 inch was different from the longer sizes and it was completely worthless.
Since then they have revised it to make them all the same .
Pulex standard aluminum channel for a hand tool and ettore brass channel for pole work
I recommend learning to use the excelerator in hand to understand it, before using it on a pole.
Overtime, I have learned to really enjoy the moermon excelerator fliq for pole work. Being a welder from my original trade the finesse to use on the rainbow technique has helped me to keep a light grip. A definite tool to have in your wc arsenal.
I started with squeegees from Lowes and they sucked. I even got one that looked alright from Home Depot, but returned it too. My first I bought from Detroit Sponge were Unger Ninjas which were terrible I though because they left just a ton of water on the glass. I returned them too and got an 18" Ettore Super Channel (thanks Luke) which I freaking love and a 14" Moerman Liquidator/Accelerator with which I have a love-hate relationship. If the Super Channel picked up the detailing I would go that way every time, but I hate detailing and I do believe Moerman will come out with much, much better modifications to the Liquidator. Besides that I’ve seen people do an amazing job with a Liquidator, so I know it’s user error and just have to put in the time to learn the tool. I also bought a Sorbo Quick Silver I got yesterday and was amazed at how well it handled straight pulling. And curious to try it more and see how it does. For right now my favorite or the Super Channel and Liquidator, though.
@Luke, why do you have a different interest in residential and commercial? Couldn’t you just cut down a Super Channel to get a smaller version of what you have for commercial and be happy with a Super Channel for everything?
@Luke or anyone else, I’ve been using these standard Unger channels for several years but I am always trying to increase efficiency and the quality of my work. I do mostly residential, do you feel like the master brass would be a big upgrade, and if so would the channels fit these Unger handles or would I need to change them too?
