Winter Special Ideas

While on the job today, I’m brain storming for ideas to run a special on residential window cleaning to help scrape by this next month. Thinking of $150 full house (smaller homes) or something along these lines.

Looking for more ideas!! :bulb:

Same here, if I can’t use my WFP, I am not interested in resi. Used this winter to optimize my route, now I will have one more free day to pack with resi and pw Spring to Fall. :money_mouth_face:

So…I ended up advertising a 20% discount on all services just for February.(still won’t drop below my minimum of course) So far, this has helped to generate word of mouth referrals pretty well. Apparently if home owners know it’s a limited deal, they are more likely to jump at it.

From the ones I’ve worked with, they are showing high interest in booking the same time next year too.

Just wanted to post an update in case anyone else faces a similar situation.

Now if the rain can just hold off a bit, I’ll be set!

What do you do with your pricing for these customers when their 2nd service rolls around? I’d hate to think that I’d always have to discount to get them to schedule… kind of like how retail shops only make sales when things are discounted - it becomes a race to the bottom.

Is there anything else that your target demographic values? I did a voucher for a semi-upscale restaurant and that went down well. As they were digging into their awesome food they thought of me! Way more effective than discounting.

Maybe I’m lucky, but I am yet to use discounting as a way of finding customers.

Fact is, I haven’t gotten around to the 2nd round yet. That’ll come next year. With February probably being my #1 slowest month, I needed to figure something out. If my business progresses as it has been in the past few years, then one of two things; 1-I won’t have any need to discount anything next year or 2- I’ll like how it worked and won’t mind doing it again.

The first person I lined up with this promotion, I was a little disappointed. It was a nice big house and she only ended up having me do a small area that her house cleaner couldn’t reach so… minimum charge. But that disappointment quickly faded when she had me quote the full house (at my full rate) and she’s on my schedule for the fall. Then the next day while working, her coworker called me and now I’ll be working for her for a nice $ amount.

Basically, I needed to generate business to make it through the end of winter. When spring hits, I should be slammed again. I don’t like cutting my rates, but I don’t like being homeless either Lol! The promotion’s working.

Do you get snow where you are?

I’ve noticed that many people want to wait to get their windows cleaned until after spring street cleaning.

Maybe you could offer 3 times per year. Once in Feb, once in the spring and once in the fall?

Not much snow this year. People are typically wanting to wait, but I’ve been getting enough to get by on.
