When I’m doing windows I always have a little trail of water along the edge a window. Do you always dry these before you go on or not? It not, when do you not worry about it?
When I did commercial I’d detail them, sometimes you didn’t have to, it just depends.
Consider:
If you were the store owner and it wasn’t detailed, does it add value to your store or not?
Also, do the windows catch the sun early/late in the day? If it does then the sharper sunlight will really show the missed detailing.
How much does it bleed into the window? If your squeegee rubber is tight onto the edge of the glass then it may be ok, if not then probably best to detail.
@Stoneface I know you’ve talked about getting into residential some too. If you work on a house, I personally recommend making sure all windows are detailed. I feel like homeowners can be much pickier about this. And the better you get with your technique does make a big difference of how much detailing will be needed.
Like the others said though, maybe not as necessary always in commercial, important thing is that the owner/ manager feels like they’re getting good quality work from you.
