When you're doing pole work (or not), how clean?

I have to admit I strapped on the pole today and I got seriously better. When I came inside I couldn’t any issues from a distance, but when I got close I noticed the window had several place with a little grime left in the very, very corner of the window or some dot of dirt dried up on it that would take some steel wool to get clean, a tiny water spot I missed. I try to get everything off of the windows, but it doesn’t happen, especially with the pole. I’m wondering how clean you guys get your windows and how clean specifically with a pole? What do you do about things like this? Do you just go back outside and wash it again and again and again until it comes clean or do you consider a couple small marks as being clean enough? Do you consider a window that is taller and will be out of view to be less of a problem with a few spots than a window directly in your view or no? Thanks everyone.

Everyone has a different level of standard when it comes to “clean”. It is up to you to find a level that you are happy with and to find and try to match the needs of the customer.
I have always been a bit ocd even with stuff out of sight so I usually go back and get it because I know that it is there.
You are correct in assuming that most customers do not care about what they cannot see.
Just always check from inside and out and if a customer can see your pole work at eye level be aware they will also be able to see any mistakes made.
Hope this helps.

I’m also OCD about cleanliness on the final finish. I will always recheck my work before I leave and tidy up what I think is not right even when the customer says it’s awesome. But if they see you do that, if you show them that you care about your work and their satisfaction then a) they’ll be pleased and b) hopefully recommend you and c) you know that you’ve done the best. The hard thing to work out is balancing your OCD against time/ efficiency, that’s down to experience and your own satisfaction of your job.
Here in New Zealand we get a really bright sunlight that shows EVERY mark that you miss so it definitely pays to check but if you quality control each pane as you finish it then that helps on the job.
