What's your opinion of this door hanger?

We’ve been working to get this door hanger done up, but it feels like something’s missing from it that I can’t put my finger on. It feels as though that window cleaning and gutter cleaning being the main services get lost in the ad somewhere. Any idea?

That looks pretty sharp man! I just googled door hangers and these are a couple that I liked. Especially the squeaky clean one.

what do you do about places that say NO Solicitation?
@ stoneface, how do people know what your business is?

Some communities have a clubhouse. You can try to find someone who handles community marketing. A lot of times it might be a concierge’s list that you have to pay to be included on. Otherwise I just try to build up my Internet advertising. @MrVan

@MrVan, I don’t think it’s as important for people to recognize my company name. I mean I’ve lived on earth for a few decades and I’ve never, ever even noticed a window cleaner. A major difference in this sort of business versus most is that in this one you have to put your company in front of whoever want to see it and do it often. I want them to notice my logo because a logo is much easier recognized than a name in an industry such as window cleaning. If I were trying to market a restaurant, dog training business, store, car lot, most anything else would really require some name recognition, but we need to find out customers on a consistent basis.

I’m following this thread as I am looking to do this SOON! I went to a trade show last week. Marketing seminar, presenter said message before motto.

The “check it out” flyer appears to be popular for breaking the ice.

Many of my clients say that they initially called me cuz they liked my name. It’s more than we might think sometimes.

That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying I just started in this business and am making $1,300 this month after earning $445 last month. That’s all from me asking people if they would like their windows cleaned. That’s walking and talking and a ton of cold calling. I’ve gotten one call from someone who was referred by a guy I walked and talked to, so you could say that was a walk and talk. I’ve had signs put out and have taken out ads, but not one person has called me on any of them. I am told they will, but they’re not yet. In my past businesses I’ve noticed certain trends in the marketing and the trend here seems to be when you specify the individual. Anything anyone can see is different from a person coming to talk to you or you getting a door hanger or a piece of mail from a someone. Those are specifically for you. I may be wrong because I am fairly new to this game, but if you drive down the road you notice the McDonald’s on the street corner, but completely miss the window cleaning office next to it. The window cleaner comes to you. If you called him to ask for direction he would probably say, "Yeah, we’re right next door to the McDonald’s.

Well keep up the hard work man, it seems like you’re getting it pretty good.
