WFP filter

Occasionally when we use the WFP the water has an odorous smell. This morning it smelled like rotten seafood. We used the WFP on the next job and no smell and on the last job too. The first client was on well water maybe that is what the deal is?
The smell comes and goes our TDS is always good. I check it daily and we change the carbon/sediment about every 2 weeks.

That smell is the di resin. It smells like fish to me. It is usually and indication that your resin is expired. But if your TDS is good then no need to change the resin. You are changing the carbon sediment too often. Those are good for 15,000 gals or every 3 months is a good rule of thumb. I am assuming you have the Xero Pure?

Thanks JohnLee. Our TDS here is very high usually 200-300 on every job, has been high as 475 (labelled non-potable). The lowest TDS we have encountered via customer supplied water is 150. I have been changing the sediment filter so frequently to protect the DI resin. Each time I change it the TDS drops but it is no going to zero TDS after filter change. It is like 13 now and we changed filter one week ago.
Yes I have a xero pure cart. The question is how much resin do I need to change. I got an extra white cylinder with blue caps and a small bag of resin with the kit. I watched your video on changing the DI resin but in the video it was empty. So how much DI resin do I need to change out? Thanks JohnLee and thanks for the GREAT weekend service you gave us 3 weeks ago. I appreciate it.

The carbon sediment filter is to protect the RO membrane from chlorine added by the city. To change the DI cartridge just fill it to the top with the resin in the bag. It holds 1/4 cubic ft. Then follow my instructions in the video.

Thanks JohnLee I circled back to the video thanks
