Water fed Pole trouble on French panes

Hi everyone,

Just got an Unger stage 2 with a Xero pole and tucker brush with rinse bar. Recently I cannot get good results with it and there tends to be lots of spotting and doesn’t seem to sheet. My TDS was 000 and pressure was good.

Can someone help me understand what needs to change?
Thanks,
-Max

I find with french panes, I need to really scrub the frames (and charge accordingly).

Try to have your rinse water hit about an inch below the top of the window pane and be angled downward. Surface tension in the water should pull the water above down without disturbing and dust left in the cracks of a frame.

You want it angled downward so any dust left on the windows rinses downward and doesn’t splash upwards and stick to the glass above where you’ve rinsed.

Another thing it could be (I’m just guessing) is your brush might be dirty. Make sure it’s not leaning against the building or on the ground when you’re moving things around.

Hey thank you. I’ll give this a try!

I’m still having trouble with spotting it does not sheet on any French panes at all! None huge problem for me

You are dealing with hydrophobic windows. They will spot if not cleaned and rinse well. Here is a video that will help. How to avoid spotting on Hydophobic Glass - Water Fed Window Cleaning - YouTube

Even in that video he still has spotting is it supposed to dry up?

When I do WFP work on hydrophobic glass, I can never get a good sheet rinse but I make sure my pressure is good, double rinse and the go look at the glass after doing about five or more windows.

There will still be water droplets but I look to see if I find any dry spots. If I can’t get it to dry right (usually oxidation) I just switch to traditional so I don’t waste anymore time.

Yea I always end up doing traditional unless it’s hydrophilic

I use fan jets for that type of glass. Seems to work for me.

Where can you get some for a tucker?

Tucker sells fan jets separately on their website.
