Unger Stingray

Haven’t had much success with the Stingray. Tried using it to clean a mirror above a mantel and it was nothing but smears and streaks. How do you use it?

You overwet the pad if you got smears. Look at the videos I posted. Also did you wash your pads with soap? If so that can cause smears. Wash in hot water with microfiber towels only and use the rinse 2 times cycle if you have it. Do not use soap.

That’s good advice from JohnLee.

Addison - i use the older unger setup with the green pads and sprayway foam. It works well on clean glass that just needs to be maintained. It does not do well on glass that you haven’t been nose to glass on and cleaned with soap mop squeegee. I know that the stingray has really long pole options. I have also seen a fair amount of once or twice used stingrays for sale on various forums.

@Johnlee Thanks for those tips. Are the pads ruined if you’ve washed them with soap? Also, I noticed that when you take the pad off the glass it leaves dirt/lint on the window. Anything you can do about that?

No just wash in hot water and rinse good. If the pad is leaving anything on the glass it’s time to change it

We haven’t got to use our sting way too much yet. Very excited to put it to work soon. I understand that there is a learning curve to it…especially when removing it when finished cleaning the glass.

The learning curve is in moving the triangle pad in the most efficient movements and the right amount of moisture. I like the deep cleaning pad best
