Unger HiFlo Soap Dispenser - Problematic?

So about 3 months back now we bought one of these for our water fed pole. We were doing a job on a hotel with rather neglected windows - every pane was covered in dust and grime, and baked on bird crap was a problem with about 50% of the windows.

The part immediately failed, or may have been defective out of the box. The soap didn’t drain from the reservoir as we were told it would. Instead it was flooded with water and almost all the soap immediately shot through the line and down the side of the building. By the end of just 5 minutes the soap reservoir was heavily diluted - almost pure water with a tinge of green. It didn’t even seem to matter if the soap/rinse toggle was in one direction or another, the device was still doing the same thing.

We returned it. Next one, same problem. Once more. Same problem.

No, it’s not hooked up backwards.
No, we never took it apart.
Yes, we’re using Unger’s own brand of window cleaning solution.

I’d love to know if anyone else has had issues with this, and if so, how you managed to solve the problem.

Also, if you have other in-line dispensers that you can recommend, I’m sure it’s something we’ll run into again down the road, and I’d love to have a working solution for it.

First I apologize that you got 2 bad soap dispenser because that is not the way they work. It should release a slow mixture of chemical and water. We can send you a new one just send me your contact information with shipping address and email. Text it to 865-310-0728

Actually it was THREE. Which is why I asked about it - maybe someone knows something weird or stupid that I’m doing wrong. Or maybe they’re just notoriously defective - I really wouldn’t know.

I did contact Unger about it but unfortunately they just said they’d “look into it” & get back to me, but when I asked how long it would take for a possible reply they went silent. :frowning:
