Trying to add pressure washing as a service

So I am trying to add pressure washing as a service. Currently my general liability insurance won’t let me add it as a service. I heard its a valuable service to add on and would like to know what people charge for their time or certain job they have?

Jacob I’m still new to certain areas of pressure washing but in total, I’ve been doing it for a few years. More as of lately (this season) I learned some seriously amazing things and my business improved 90% in just one season, all from the info I learned at the pwra… you should join that forum and read a bunch of the threads ! The info there is valuable and plentiful !

And of course I’m willing to help you and make it easy for ya man. If ya have questions feel free bud

I will have to dig into the forums. Cannot say I have had the pleasure of navigating the PWRA forums.

I would be happy to learn from you in person, provided you knew what kind of value you wanted in return for your time. I will drive to you. You are not far from me at all. PM me a price or text me before we talk over the phone. Otherwise I will answer “Meyers Window Cleaning, this is Jacob. What information can I help you find?”

However, if its a conflict of interest to help me out, I understand. Seems like there is more competition out there than friends.

Hey @Jacob! How you doing man?
Ok so here in Quebec, I have liability insurance that covers my pressure washing part of the business but they only cover for whatever is horizontal, not vertical. They say anything that’s on the ground for example; a deck, driveways etc. They won’t cover house sidings like vinyl because they say too many have caused water damage. It makes sense but the job still needs to get done so therefore whenever I do those kinds of services, I’m that much more careful!
As for price, I have two ways to charge. You can either go by hour or by square footage.
Pressure washing by hour goes between 70$/hour to roughly 100$/hour. Personally I charge 80$/hour.
When I go for square footage I charge 0.40$/sq ft.
That being said, you judge when you think it’s more worth charging per hour or by square foot. Usually if a client asks me to come by and pressure wash her steps and I know it’s a 20 minutes job, I’ll charge a minimum 1 hour fee for time and preparation and travel, but when I have a townhouse community garage of 3000 sq ft then ill go more with the size than the time.
You can choose what you’d rather do, especially if you don’t know for sure how long it’ll take. :+1:

Excellent information. I will have to see how my general liability would approve this. Thank you as well. Everyone on this forum has been really helpful, super appreciative of all the support.

I know I’m late on this conversation but I wanted to mention this. I checked in with a private insurance agency that works with many companies rather than just trying to stick with one of the big name places. They set me up with Westfield. Less than $50 a month and great coverage! Pressure washing has kept me busier that any other services this past season.
