Tennis Elbow, Golfers elbow, Tendonitis

Hi Guys, I want to share some helpful info if you’ve had trouble with pain in your elbow from work. I’ve been checking windows as my primary job for 15 years now. I’ve had pain so bad at times that I could hardly twist a doorknob. I saw a YouTube video of a chiropractor adjusting a patient’s elbow, so I found a local chiropractor and asked about it. Your results may vary, not all professionals are created equal, etc. He adjusted my elbow and 80% of the pain was gone instantly. It worked way better than a cortisone injection from the doctor 6 months before.
Also, I have found that a basketball player’s spandex Shooter’s Sleeve on the arm helps better than a tennis elbow strap while you are working, because it compresses the arm but does not restrict the forearm’s movement.
I hope this helps! -Jacob Winchell

Thank you very much! I scheduled an appointment for dry needling aug 14th. If that dosent work I will give the chiropractor a shot ! Thanks again for the tip!

You’re welcome :grinning:. Let me know how the dry needling appointment goes.
The chiropractor that adjusted my elbow told me he usually sees this elbow condition in D.O.T. workers that use a weed eater all day.
Also, I found I have to be careful not to hold and look at my phone too much because that makes the pain in my elbows worse.

For me it seems like anything triggers it. Yeah I will let you know how it goes. I had never heard of it before, one of our residential clients had referred me. She had it done on her tennis elbow and said it really worked.

Bad mechanics in the neck and shoulders will transfer problems down to the elbow. So I started looking up videos from physical therapists and personal trainers about how to stretch, strengthen the weak muscle groups and correct my posture. That seemed to help keep the elbow pain away, but only after I got it adjusted by the chiropractor.
Here’s an example of a video I watched but there are obviously tons of different ones out there

I ran into this problem for the first time this year. Haven’t tried chiro or anything. At my worst, holding a glass of water (beer) was almost impossible. I bought this and have been working with it on every day:

That is not me in the picture, full disclosure. It is like a basketball sleeve but it also has increase pressure where my pain is and adds compression to the entire mid arm.

Every day I get a little bit better with this. And last week I could even work without it for a few days.

That looks better than a basketball sleeve. Could you tell me the brand and where to buy one? I’d like to have one on hand in case I need it
Try the chiropractor adjustment, I was almost back to normal the next day for work. Here is a link to an example video. Fast forward to about 4:50 and to 5minutes. You will see him adjust the elbows

Should have included the link. Sorry. I got it from my local pharmacy (Rexall)

OMG, Ha ha ha ha, the caption for that vid is “San Jose CA. Lady gets her first Johnson…”

Wow, the clickbait is strong with this one.

I got the pain really bad in my left elbow last fall. Then the right started to hurt. I went to an acupuncturist and was amazed. The key for me was to get regular treatments, about once a month or six weeks, and do as much resting of the elbow as you can in the winter. By the end of January all of the pain in both elbows was gone. I still go every once in a while for preventative care. Honestly, if you had asked me a couple of years ago I never would have thought I would be a die-hard acupuncturist client but the shit works, and it helps your body relax.

Hi Luke,
How was your experience with acupuncture?

I was blown away! The dry needling was pretty painful…but instant relief. I go for another session next week. Ethan my pt was cool enough to let me film the procedure. I’ll include it in a video

Good to hear you got the relief that you needed. I look forward to seeing the video about your visit.

Hi guys, my first post here - earlier this year my tennis elbow in my right arm got so bad that just squeezing a toothpaste tube caused major pain, the main problem was that it got worse just bit by bit over 4-5 months that I’d sort of gotten used to it until breaking point was reached.

All my regular exercises & stretches that has worked in the past no longer seemed to be helping much so as a last resort before going to see the doc for a cortisone injection I tried this elbow sleeve I found at a chemist here in Melbourne, Australia, amazon link here - https://www.amazon.com/Wicks-DW33SSE-Activease-Thermal-Support/dp/B00KACID84. It helped reduce my pain almost immediately & I constantly wore it for the first 6 - 8 weeks including to bed where I could finally get a decent nights sleep & not constantly be woken up with that awful pain. I am now wearing it just when I’m working & wear a sports elbow sleeve to bed most nights. I still get some pain after a busy day but it eases off fairly quickly. Just for the record, I have no affiliation with the company that makes the sleeves, I just cant help but recommend them highly enough. Definitely worth a try before opting for injections as cortisone doesnt help fix the underlying issues, just ease the pain for a while, where as the sleeve plus exercises designed to strengthen elbow tendons looks to be providing me with long-term relief.

Anyway sorry for ranting on, hope this helps someone & hello from down-under! Loving your videos guys, have picked up plenty of great tips, keep em coming!

Wow sorry to hear about your pain. I’ve been seeing a physical therapist for the past few weeks and from my understanding braces and shots are just band aids. I have been having dry needling done on mine and after my second session nomore brace! I have 2 sessions left but the pain is almost 100% gone.

Acupuncture is the answer. I’m so happy I found it because the pain is real and it doesn’t go away on its own.

I agree! The dry needling I have been doing has almost cleared it up 100%. Its very different from acupuncture, the only similarity is that they use the same needles.

I have friends that do each. I’m sure there are differences on their side of the table but for us the important thing is that it works. I’ve read about so many cleaners with the same problem. I think an acupuncturist could set up at the Huge and rake in money. One session isn’t enough but it’s enough to show you that it can help.

Interesting, acupuncture was on my list of things to try if the pain returns but I hadn’t heard of dry needling.

I thought I had bad knees and back but started doing these and also started doing deadlifts and front squats and my knees and back are fine now. The deadlifts and squats were a way for me to gauge how I was doing with correcting my posterior chain and getting that thoracic extension. Same with neck. I started doing trap exercises and now my neck pains subsided.
