I was wondering about cleaning windows that have a lot of decals. I imagine it’s okay to clean windows like these? Maybe be more careful with the squeegee I imagine? Do you try to stay away from stores with lots of decals?
The only difference I have experienced with storefronts that have a lot of vinyl lettering or decals is that it takes an extra bit of time to wipe each letter. I have worked on some old beat up lettering that I would just run my strip washer and squeegee over and the letters would hold together just fine. What they will do is collect water along the raised edges and then you will have drip runs down your glass. I usually wipe everything down with a terrycloth rag and then I use another polish/finishing towel to remove any remaining moisture.
You may also notice some quicker wear on softer compound squeegee rubber, but if you are doing a significant amount of commercial storefronts, you will end up changing your rubber 2-3 times a week with soft rubber.
Thank you for that
