Residential shut down?!?

Do you have a date that you stop taking residential bookings?

Or do you clean homes in the winter?

When they stop calling.

O dang ! So you don’t have a set date?

No set day. If the phone is ringing and weather allows (in Colorado) I clean residential homes.

This has only been my second full time year since I’ve started my business. Last winter, i had barely just enough to make it through without working for anyone else. This year, it looks like we’ll have an extended season. So far, I’m booked through the second week of December and the phone won’t stop ringing.

The weather will start getting in the way at some point, I did a small house Tuesday with 26° wind chill, people are usually pretty understanding if I have to reschedule due to bad winter weather but here in NE Tennessee, it’s manageable enough to work in most of the time.

Man thats awesome! Excited for you! Hopefully next year is like this. But I have a feeling this is due to the slow start and covid. But hopefully I’m wrong.

I hear that! Whats your prediction for next year?

I’m with you, I feel like it’s COVID related and I’m just grateful for what it is right now. There’s no telling what’s to come.

Next year will be awesome as this whole BS Covid will be behind us. This year I had a slow start I guess like everybody else, but it picked up beginning of the summer and looking at the numbers now as this year is closing I am actually making same as last year.

@Luke @AdamPWC If you guys run short during the winter, you can always swing down to Florida for a month or 3. I’ve been working 7 days a week since the first week of November and I am booked all the way to Christmas Eve, excluding Thanksgiving and Black (& Blue) Friday. I am turning down new client requests at about 3 each day and they often lament during the call that all other service companies are similarly booked and there is no availability. One of the few benefits to the weather down here and I imagine the same for @JaredAI in AZ that we never shut down for multiple weeks due to cold weather.

Thanks @GSARMedic ! We actually enjoy the brief shutdown. We close dec 20th - March 1st.

During that time we still service storefronts and commercial.

This year wentbtil November 14. Most years Nov 7th is the last date before too cold. It’s the last week of plus degrees temperatures in Celsius. After that all commercial in and out. Until April if we’re lucky.

Eesh. Looks rough. Will you reschedule the work you had lined up that day?

Idk yet, it has crossed my mind. If the forecast of snow gets worse, I’ll have to. That area gets more snow than anywhere else nearby and I could get buried. Lol!

We have been having some pretty cold mornings here. But not that cold. It’s been in the low 20’s. Yesterday morning was a tough one.
