Rain Water Handout

We all know that rain is clean water and doesn’t leave spots on clean windows. Not looking to start a “keyboard war” or anything like it. Just looking for facts.

BUT… we all also have stubborn customers or prospects who just don’t get it still. Does anyone know of a good website, or link, or a type of handout to leave or send to them?

I have Googled it, but the majority of answers are on professional window cleaning websites, or blogs where anyone can answer. Not saying they’re wrong, but I’d be interested in knowing where to find information from a legit science website.

I looked at some NOAA sponsored websites, and they said rain can absorb dirt or gasses in the air and will fall with the rain. But of course, our experience shows that windows will still remain clean after it rains. Thanks for the help in advance.

I’m not sure about anything like what you’re asking…but I tel my clients that, whether I clean today with the rain or tomorrow with the sun, it’s still going to rain on the windows either way, and it’s not rain that make windows dirty, it’s dirt that makes them dirty. That usually works for me.

But I do currently have a client who doesn’t want me to clean in the rain however she keeps rescheduling for rainy days!
Pretty soon there won’t be room on my schedule, I have people calling for June already!

For my best clients, I offer a “month rain guarantee”. Within a month of service, if rain results in spotting, I will come and do touch up work. Rarely is it ever taken advantage of (due to the case made above) but it can turn a down day into a revenue day.

I always wondered about the “guarantee” that people make. I always felt like to many people would take advantage of that and I’d be stuck running all over my area just spot cleaning for free.

Has that ever been an issue for you?

It has never been an issue. A few folks have used the opportunity, but never a real problem. More of a marketing tactic for me.
