Marketing

I haven’t personally pursued this but theres a great episode on WCR Nation about Commercial accounts if youd like to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41GbikAh61A

As for marketing… I find Google works really well, haven’t experimented yet with Facebook and as a Canadian I don’t have access to Home Advisor or Angies List. Door Hangers are great if you have the time. My newspaper ad sort of flopped, seemed like a bit of a waste of money compared to other advertising avenues and their ROI.

The reason I love Google is that I find a lot of folks in the 50-70 year demographic might not realize that ads pay to be at the top. I’ve asked people how they found me and very often I hear “We saw you at the top of Google and knew you were the best around.” Well, sure I do a great job (as do most of us) but my organic ranking is definitely not yet on the first page. Sort of funny when you realize that their generation views it that way and for me that is my main demographic to land jobs with. So for now Google is the main breadwinner although I like to experiment and test others.

I think Facebook is next for me. For those that don’t know: DONT BOOST POSTS. You can get much much better ROI by creating an ad from scratch and setting a specific demographic (or a few to A/B test between ads as one should) Facebook encourages boosting because it earns them wheelbarrows of cash from those that boost and want better results. However this doesnt let you target customers and create a specific demographic which will yield much better results.
