Luke, two questions

@Luke was watching this video and it brought up a couple of questions.

First, why don’t you contract out your work. Not to decrease your work load, but to increase your income. It seems like if you kept a full schedule you could contract out additional jobs to jack up your income.

Second, in this video your mop stayed wet, but I didn’t see you carrying your bucket around. I see you using in a lot of videos, but have noticed it was nowhere around in others. What’s the deal?

I think he carries a squirt bottle of solution…

I dont sub contract our work for a few reasons. Mainly due to 3 of us can get that work done, and its difficult to find trusted local window cleaners to sub it out to.

@Derrick is right. We carry squirt bottles in our pouches. We only carry our bucket on larger jobs. Before we walk up to the job we dunk our mops in the bucket in the back of the truck then as they dry out at the job we use the squirt bottle to add more water.

Wouldn’t a squirt bottle normally give you less time to clean the glass? Having a mist versus more water on the glass? I mean wouldn’t you want more water since the solution is in proper ratio with the water? It just seems not enough is on the glass with a spray bottle even when one goes over with the applicator on the glass. I switched away from a spray bottle a long time ago, just though I would ask.

I’ve found you waste more time spraying down each window with a spray bottle. With a squirt bottle you add the solution directly to the mop and you can clean for several windows …depending on how much you add.

With one dunk in the bucket when we get out of the vehicle, we typically only have to wet the mop with the squirt bottle once maybe twice for a typical storefront. With a spray bottle you would be spraying each window once the mop starts to dry . Each time you put away your tools ,grab the bottle , spray the window ,put away the bottle and grab your tools again you’re wasting a ton of time just switching tools.

I’ve tried both and still prefer this method.
O and I dont overcomplicate our solution. Dawn and water. I simply add a pinch of dawn to the water in my squirt bottle and poof! You have ready to go solution.

That’s exactly how I did it. I tried many different ways to wet the mop. Even tried Unger’s. Mop with continuous water fed from bottle on belt. Nothing worked better and was as efficient as the squirt bottle on the belt.

@Luke, this would make a great informative video:

I think I already put it in this one

Thanks, @Luke. That was a great video. I tried this last night and was seriously blown away by how much water it added to my mop.

Works really well glad you liked it!

Really it all depends on what you prefer. I always say to each their own.

Hi guys. I use a bottle too, much easier and faster than lugging around a bucket of water! Depends on the job tho, very hot days you need amore water so sometimes a bucket ends up being faster.

I at times can use the squirt bottle but most of the time we use the bucket. Of course we do 95% residential and do WFP on some on outside. We just like cleaning our wands more often to get the dirt and oils off the wand. Makes cleaning the windows easier, the cleaner the wand the more dirt and debris it will remove from the window. That’s just how we do it, no right or wrong way, like Luke said a lot is just your preference.

I learned the water bottle trick from luke as well, it’s most practical that’s why it’s what I do…
