Little black bug droppings etched glass

So just did my first full day of window cleaning only. Booked 3 houses and I think I did pretty good. Ran into one issue though. One house had what looked like black bug shit dots all over only a couple panels at the front porch. I tried the razor, and steel wool, didn’t get it all off. Tried soaking it down with cleaner and some automotive bug remover I had in the truck, but still didn’t get it to come off. I didn’t think to take a picture as I thought I’d be able to find something here. It almost felt like whatever this was etched itself into the glass. I showed the owner, and said I didn’t want to scrub any harder as I thought I’d damage the glass. They were understanding and didn’t seem to care other than wondering what it was.
Other than that was a really good day. Anyone have any ideas?

Was there any mulch in the immediate area below the windows? If so, look into “shot gun mold” to see if that might be what you ran across.

Sounds like what I saw after someone was grinding metal near one of the windows. Pitted the windows.

It might just be the grinder. There was no mulch, but yes the black specs could definitely be from the sparks and grit from an abrasive wheel and would definitely pit the glass. It was only on two of the panes side by side so that’s probably it.
Definitely nothing I could do to remove it then. They had a steel bannister and rail on the porch that looked brand new…

Thanks,
