Hiya,
I have invested heavily into the moerman world and it is very frustrating! I have a few sizes of the liquidator. I have exelerator handles and snappers. Some times it is great but that is very few and far between. I only use it for fanning by hand. I have the fliq on an ettore brass channel for pole which I have no problems with. (Thanks to Luke and SteveO!)
The majority of the time while using the liquidator I am left with “soap rainbows” or smears! So instead of detailing the top and sides I am now detailing/rubbing out the center which I really don’t want to be doing!! I have a bit of soap already in my bucket from the mornings commercial but very little, so when I get to the domestics I dip the applicator and apply my soap both sides. Then when dry I re-dip and apply a little more soap? Is this right? Nearly every time on the fanning motion I get a silly curve line! Drive me crazy! Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
I have had the same problem with the liquidator.
Sometimes it works beautifully and sometimes it just keeps skipping in the centre.
It may come down to how flat the pane of glass is as the ends of the liquidator curve down slightly we may be losing contact with the pane in the middle of the accelerator as the turn is made…
When it works it really works so it might just be a case of noting/accepting jobs that it will/won’t work on.
Mine are kinda just sitting there too.
I haven’t had the same sort of problems. The only problem I have with the Liquidator is leaving lines and today I realized that was from too much water on the channel. If I dip all the way to the bottom of the window, or at least a long ways down, then give an abrupt stop and possibly a slight reverse at the end it throws the excess water off and doesn’t leave the line when I go back over again.
It seems that the rainbow streaks come from too much soap and too much rubber on the dry glass when you’re squeegeeing.
Possible, I hadn’t thought about to much rubber on the glass so will try that. I’m so keen to get this technique down and to work for me. Just hope it comes together, because at the moment it mostly sucks!
I know it sucks, but I’m telling you it will get better. I’ve only been doing this for less than three months. I found out about window cleaning in August and got all my stuff at the beginning of September and went out to start looking for jobs October 10th. I have a handful of accounts now and got them just by walking from door to door. I’ve got a way to go about finding jobs and can tell you if you want to hear it, but I’ve gotten jobs nearly every time I’ve gone out and I’m no salesman. Heck I got six jobs one day.
What I did was watch a crud load of videos on how-to subjects then every night I went down to the laundromat or the gas station and I cleaned windows for hours. Everyone likes to say, “Oh, I walked to death march and really put in my time against grueling consequences.” That’s just not true. I cleaned until I got tired and didn’t want to do it any longer then when home. I don’t know if it’s just me, but cleaning windows is a seriously entrancing thing. Yesterday I had a job that I charged $60 for and it took me four hours (I’m trying to learn right now, so I’m not jacking my prices up yet). I finished and I had lost track of time. They told me what they wanted then I didn’t say a single thing to anyone until I was finished. I seriously enjoyed it. Find an empty building and go clean the glass over and over and over until you’re in a sort of groove. Pin point where your weak points are and focus on them the most. I mean, just lay on them so you bring up your weak points. I did like six hours on the pole one night because I couldn’t get it down. I wasn’t cured when the six hours was over, but you can bet I was better than when I started.
Just keep it up and keep after it. My name is Rowdy Harris and I have a dog I’m stacking in the winner’s circle on Facebook. Drop me a line and we’ll talk a bit. Just remember, the number one reason people lose in anything is because they give up. Really, if you don’t give up the only thing that can take you out of it it death or some medical condition. Think of how back you are now then think of how good you’ll be in ten years. We watch all of these guys on YouTube, but they’ve already gone through the hard part. They’ve already sucked and withheld through it. That’s why they’re making $200,000 per year as opposed to sitting in a motel room in their underwear, eating Cheetos, watching how to get rich quick schemes.
Doritos.
@TheWindowCleanse, cleaning windows is your expertise, but 'tater chips are my expertise. Cheetos.
Thank you for the advice Might have to hit an empty building like you say, I use it a lot in the day but I have pressure from the boss to go as fast as poss so I can’t access my technique or take 5 to practice.
