Is it common for boar's hair bristles to become a knotted mess?

I have a hybrid brush that I have been using almost daily and I noticed a little more drag the last few days. The center grouping of boar’s hair bristles between the pencil jets has bunched together into a knotted clump. Is this normal? Does it require a remedy? If so what is it?

Also, I have noticed that I am constantly losing bristles, one or two at a time. Is this a quality issue anyone else has found with the Tucker Alpha Hybid brushes?

Boars hair is a natural bristle. Unlike a nylon which is a continue filament boars hair will shed. Also the knotting is characteristic of a natural fiber. It also wears faster than nylon. Soak in hot water then reshape the bristles and let dry. Hope this helps.
