How Do You Clean Lanterns?

Lanterns seem to be the most time-consuming and tricky part of residential projects, despite being such small objects. For lanterns that do not de-construct easily or that have any obstacles inside the fixture that make using traditional squeegeeing difficult, what techniques/tools have you found to help make the process easier and faster?

Thanks!

I offered lantern cleaning for many years. 3 years ago I was cleaning a home that I have cleaned many times, including the lanterns. I broke it. It was an accident, it slipped out of my hands and the glass broke.

The lantern was irreplaceable. I searched for 3 days for a replacement. I finally found the manufacturer and they no longer made it. All of the lanterns on the outside were matching too.

Anyways, we no longer offer this service.

  1. It is so tedious and time consuming, customers rarely want to pay what its actually worth.

  2. If you break the lantern, you are rolling the dice on finding a replacement.

Lucky for us she was a regular customer and was happy with a lantern that looked similar.

Just my 2 cents.
