Hey guys, I ran into what I believe to be hard water stains on some windows at a house that I was doing yesterday. Since then I been looking for solution because I would really love to fix this problem for my client. I found this video
He doesn’t state what product he’s using maybe you guys can tell me? Or maybe you have a solution.
We use A-1 stain remover for smaller applications and CC550 for larger applications. Please read the instructions on what type of glass to use it on. Hope that helps, there’s others out there too. Just what we been using for years.
I would try the A-1 stain remover with a white pad. Try a small test area just in case, I’ve never had issues with this product on different glasses. But the CC550 you need to be real careful with the type of glass you use it on, you could make a bigger problem then you started with, it’s acid. You will need to wear gloves and goggles. Works well but for specific applications, I use A-1 more often. Just did 48 window panes with A-1 and they turned out awesome, homeowner was very pleased with the end results. I here one restore is good too, never used that though.
Hard water removal needs to be not included in window cleaning pricing. Charge to clean the windows then charge a different line item called glass restoration. You will need different products because there is no one size fits all. I always start with One Restore because there is no rubbing needed and it is the most effecient. The other products mentioned are also very good. As mentioned always test a area first. Here are the ones we carry. https://windowcleaner.com/shop/soaps-chemicals/stain-removers
That’s exactly how I word it too!
I got sick of that 1 in a 100 customer that gets a yearly clean and then refuses to change their sprinkler pattern or resolve the issue after you have told them how to fix it.
They think that you are just going to take it all of again every year for a regular clean price.
NO WAY !
