Hard or soft rubber

What rubber is everyone using at the moment? As it’s crazy heat wondering if I should switch to hard rubber??

We use hard rubber year round out of laziness

I use hard rubber is spring/summer/fall and soft in the winter. I also use whatever I have in the truck, hard or soft, if I need to. I haven’t noticed a huge difference.

Ettore. Not to hard. Not to soft. Just right.

I use Unger hard rubber here in NC year around. I’ve been using it for years and I’m just used to it. I keep trying different rubbers but always go back.

I’ve always used Unger Hard myself for years. For the new folks trying out the hard rubber for the first time just remember to give it some time to break in. It will seem like it is dragging a bit at first but after a few minutes of cleaning the drag will go away.

Here in Perth, western Australia I’ve been using the Baron 4 sided rubber in my Sorbo. But after some crap batches and seeing people raving about the super channel I’ve just switched. Had a quick go today and liked it! I’m guessing Ettore works well in hot weather too?

I’m thinking of going with the hard Unger rubber. Because literally seemingly everyone here is recommending hard. The complete squeegees I ordered are Unger ergo tech with stainless s channels but they come with soft rubber. So I’m gonna buy some hard rubber to replace them with after I get to know them a bit.

Not a bad choice. That s channel may give you some trouble being as you’re new. I’d also pick up a standard channel too

@JoeyGee I’m really pleased at the moment with Unger hard rubber. It’s lasting a lot longer than the soft winter rubber. Although someone suggested the Wagtail red rubber to me for winter work. Apparently it lasts a really long time? It’s a bit more expensive but I’ll give it a go this winter

Based on reviews from alot of people I’ve seen ettore seems like a good rubber to try out. Being new to the trade I’ve only used unger and moerman soft rubbers. Is ettore hard or soft? I tried to look on WCR but it doesn’t specify. Being in florida I wanted to see if the hard would work better for me

Yes Ettore is a hard rubber and would perform very well in a humid hot climate like yours. I think you would be very happy with it.
