Good morning…I have been watching a crap ton of Luke’s, Steve-O’s, and other videos on Youtube adn am getting the hang of window cleaning. I am from Florida and am a full-time teacher, but would like to start providing window cleaning to my pressure washing that I do on the side. My long-term goal is to be able to quit teaching and be able to pressure wash/window clean full-time. I am hoping to possibly get into some store front accounts and would like everyone’s opinion about how to price or things that I should look for. The pictures being shown are where I get my haircuts and I noticed that they do not look to be cleaned professionally; a lot of finger/hand prints, smudging, dirt, etc. I am thinking, inside and out, being a total of approximately $8 each and I counted 19 total sections (too high/too low?).
Do these 19 sections all essentially look the same? Big pane up top & small pane down below - or a door with small pane up top? Are you doing just the exterior or interior also?
Now, I’m also new, but my bid would be $123.20 before taxes, exterior only (double if also doing interior). Also, I’m Canadian, but I feel like although our dollar is not on par, the price/pane is around the same based on my research. So, 16 large panes, 16 small (maybe medium, but for a job I want to win I might size down). $3/small pane, $8/large pane. Regular residential client, 1st time clean, $176.00 before taxes. Commercial rate, 30% discount, $123.20, first-time clean.
Recurring discounts: Yearly +5% off next years service. Semiannual +8% off next service within 6 mo. Quarterly +10% off each new service within 12 mo.
As a newbie myself, I’d also love to know some of you experts opinion on that bid & my discount rates for pre-booking services. My aim is to achieve regular price for the first job & build value in pre-booking regular services with my company. What are your thoughts?
Yes, they are all identical, with the exception of the door area (as I am new, I couldn’t post all of the photos).
I am looking to price both interior and exterior. Being a commercial account and having watched some videos about pricing commercial, I felt going in a bit lower would be more beneficial. My plan is to go in and try to speak either with the owner or manager and determine if they have a cleaner and possibly price (not sure if I should ask about price). Yes, I also will add on an initial clean cost that will go away for any further cleans.
Just keep in mind that if someone’s window’s aren’t professionally clean already, they’re probably just cheap AF about it. Don’t get discouraged if someone with grimy windows wants to pay you $20 to do it just one time.
Oh yeah, I’m not counting on them agreeing to it, or even as you said, being overly cheap about it. I’m just in the practicing stage and I feel like I may be ready, but it’s the point of getting myself into it and taking that step that I have the problem with. Like with my pressure washing, I felt nervous at first putting out door hangers when I was done because I felt like I was “breaking a law,” but in reality, it’s jist getting out of my comfort zone.
