Facebook leads

I get a few facebook leads per week. People message my business page and ask vague questions that cannot be answered via social media. I reply promptly and professionally and then never hear back. Anybody else get this sort of thing?

I get exactly the same thing!
Just looking at prices…
Might want it done in a month or so
but not sure…
Have an “average 4x2” but not responsive when asked if single/two storey or do you have french panes?
I just find it so much easier to communicate over the phone or in person where possible if people are being vague and focused on price.
I know it can be valuable, but Facebook is not my thing.

I guess the main thing is to use facebook to generate the lead and then convert it over the phone or in person. :+1:
I just find it is a lowballing market in my area with everyone focused on price.

Never ever sell without fact finding before hand. Nothing worse than offering a service that is not suited for your prospect. Also avoid answering a question with a direct answer unless they know exactly what they are looking for. Answer a question with a question and if you can do some fact finding and you want to quote it over the phone, go for it.

If you have time to spare, set an appointment to quote their home. That way you can meet with them to answer their questions in person. Converting is much easier when you get them in person because they are setting time aside for you, so they have a partial commitment to you already.

Phone would be the 2nd best way. Facebook messages I find fizzle very quickly especially if you don’t answer within five minutes. Gain the ability to predict outcomes by doing fact finding, you will find one question sets up another and there are only so many ways one can react to you.

Thanks. I set up an auto response to all fb inquiries to call or text for faster service, thanking them for their inquiry blah, blah, blah.

the problem is that they ask me questions like: I need my window cleaned what is your schedule like? or I have 11 windows I need them cleaned or How do you charge for window cleaning?

I always reply professionally but most times I don’t get a reply from them when they ask questions like this.

I also get: do you offer free estimates? Yes of course, please give me your address telephone number and when is a good time to contact you to set up estimate appt? then just crickets…

That’s it Lew, not responsive after the initial contact

@ Jacob - I just have intitial contact from them. I can’t convert becasue they don’t reply with contact info. Just get one-liners and then crickets.

I never bid anything with out seeing it in person. It gives me an opportunity to see the home, look in the face and eyes of the homeowner and decide if I want to do work for them. Early on I took every job I could get but as I have grown I focus more on profitability and relationship. I don’t like to do one and dones.

If you cannot get them following up on Facebook messenger try this. Change the objective to redirecting them to a landing page, or getting 2, 3 maybe 4 basic pieces of information…name, email, phone number and home address.

Facebook messenger can be difficult. I understand it does not help when prospects seem to have the attention span of bugs. But if they are losing interest that easily, they may not be the future customers you want anyway. Do not ignore the other routes of getting your business out there. One form of advertising is not enough, use as many modes as you can, then figure out what your best 3 are. Then increase funding to your best 3 modes.

Direct mailers are great because you get a wide variety of people but can be costly if ordering thousands to be sent out. Cold calls are your infantry and they cost you nothing but a phone and a phone plan. Door to door and business to business on foot works and is free other than the cost of gas and business cards. Google and Facebook obviously are great too. For leads try Thumbtack. Thumbtack is inexpensive compared to Home Advisor.

I used to advertise on Facebook a lot but I’ve found similar results. Focusing on my google ads has been much more productive. I still keep up with my Facebook just enough to maintain a bit of a presence.
