Ettore Rubber in Sorbo Quick Silver channel?

I have a Sorbo Quick Silver channel I bought because everyone raves about it, but after I got it I see the base of the rubber is different than the rubber that goes in the Super Channel. Will the Super Channel’s rubber still fit? If not, what rubber do you use?

@Stoneface You need to buy Sorbo rubber as it has a different profile to Ettore/Unger/Pulex etc.
You can also buy Black Diamond and ask for the Sorbo profile.
I am about to give some a try after years of only using Ettore.

What do you mean a different “profile”? It came with rubber in it and I hate the rubber. I mean, it’s the worst I’ve used so far. Will Ettore fit into it?

No. The two choices you have for rubber manufacturers to use in a Sorbo channel are Sorbo (the rubber u have and do not like) or Black Diamond - Flat Top.

Basically Sorbo made their rubber a
different shape (profile) so that u would have to use their rubber with their channels.
All the other channel manufactures (Ettore, Unger, Pulex) use a round top profile rubber that can be used with other squeegee brands.

Black Diamond (Rubber Company)
Is providing a bridge so u can choose to use their rubber instead of Sorbo.
It is cheaper than Ettore/Sorbo and supposed to be fairly good as I said I am waiting for some to arrive and will post a honest critical review ASAP.

Ettore rubber is the best.
I forgot they do Ettore Soren rubber to fit Sorbo channels so you CAN get Ettore rubber that fits the Quicksilver channel!

Check SteveO’s YouTube and u will find a video on “ Ettore Soren rubber for Sorbo channels” If you check the comments SteveO states that the Ettore Soren is the best quality but the Black Diamond represents better value for money overall. Hope this helps.

We tried Ettore Soren rubber. It was too soft. Kept folding when fanning

Thanks for the tip @DeepC :ok_hand:
Good to know. I just whipped over my house windows with a Sorbo Rubber and it still performed pretty well. No Streaks.
I  my Ettore but I do like testing stuff too just to make sure that I’m not missing out!
The Ninja handle is awesome with the super channels so comfortable. Thanks for the tip there also @Luke !

Black diamond rubber doesn’t have soft rubber that fits a sorbo channel. They have one type of rubber for sorbo, and it is a medium rubber. We found it required too much pressure to not leave water on the glass. The sorbo and black diamond soft rubbers are more forgiving, but not too soft where they start folding on you. Black diamond and sorbo precut last a good amount of time. The bulk sorbo rubber is junk. Works great for a day then to the rubbish. We are switching to legend channels just so we can use black diamond soft rubber, and we are experimenting with the facelift rubber, but the price on that is overpriced at WCR. We found it on eBay and at a local shop.

Thanks again @DeepC I’m also keen on Facelift Red.
There is a brand called Spotless (the yellow rubber) which is also meant to last a long time and provide streak free results. The other great thing about Yellow and Red rubber is they dont mark walls if you touch them by accident when cleaning a mirror etc :+1:

But from Experience the Red doesn’t feel as nice to work with but that may just be from being spoilt by the feel of Ettore on the glass!

Hey @Luke ! Have u tried the Spotless Yellow Rubber yet?

I’ve never heard of spotless rubber or black rubber leaving a mark on a wall

I have not. Would be interested tho

Sometimes when you have mirrors that run from wall to wall if you brush up against the paint the Ettore rubber leaves a mark on the paintwork that can be difficult to wipe away. Or if your rubber catches unsealed travertine tiles it also leaves a black scuff behind. Both of these have happened to me personally.!
I only just discovered Spotless will keep group posted when I get some :+1:

Will let u know how it goes as soon as I have some landed it is supposed to be similar to facelift.

Are you sure that’s not the channel making the marks?

:100:. I always check my overhang because I use Ettore, because I have my own company, because I have to train employees and because I have been at this for 18+ years. It’s definitly the rubber. It leaves a black mark. Also it rubs off whereas if it was the channel it would leave a scratch…

I have been using the spotless yellow for a while now and it works great and lasts well. Gave the facelift red a try but hated it. Now I have the yellow in all my Squeegees inc the liquidator.
