Not sure that “efficient” and “storm windows” even belong in the same sentence together but I wanted to see what you other guys have come up with to speed up the process.
I typically will gather them all together, (label with a sharpie as I go if needed)
And clean them all in like an assembly line fashion. What are you ideas?process?
We will remove all storms at one time. Place each storm directly under or beside the window it belongs to. Then one person cleans the exterior of the house and one cleans the interior windows. Next we have a storm easel on the inside of the home. One person only cleans storms and the other brings storms to them and installs the storms after they are cleaned. Usually both will clean a few storms at the beginning so that the “installer” dosent get too far ahead and is left waiting on clean storms.
We use a win mate easel, absolutely love it. They dont make them anymore though, hard to find on the secondary market. I’ve had mine for 20 years, no issues with it at all. Makes cleaning storms so much easier!
@Luke@SimplyCleanKentucky well I guess I’m on track alright with my ladder and pivot block, it serves the same purpose, just not free standing with an extension ladder. I really like the gutter addition though, that could be very helpful! Oh, and I work alone most of the time, hence the reason for gathering them all together, no second person to reinstall them for me
