Customer not responding

Hello all. There have been many instances where a customer contacts me and asks for a price so I ask for pictures of their house and quote it appropriately. Sometimes the customer doesn’t even look at the message. Would the appropriate thing be to message them back asking if they saw it or leave it alone?

I would try again if you want the job. Try to call, if they’re willing to speak I think that’s best. Trying more than a few times with no response would probably just be bugging to much though.

I agree. Sometimes life happens and the first people to get a bump from a priority list might be a window cleaner.

I was impressed when that happened with me and my insurance broker reached out to me. Even delivered papers to my home.

If one form of communication is broken, I’d try to call. Just make sure it’s a friendly and positive call.

Definitely follow up with a call. In landscaping I give 72 hours then follow up with a call on the basis to make sure they got the quote and to see if they had any questions. I landed a bunch of them as the customer usually says “sorry, got busy and was meaning to call you but since I have you on the line now, when are you available to start?”
Of course if they ignore the call, I resend quotes after a week just as a final check.

For some they really just ignore you as a means to tell you no, but if you sent the quote, call after a few days, and then follow up again after a week, I’d take it as a no.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. They went through the trouble of sending you pictures, maybe life just distracted them and window cleaning went down on their priority list. Definitely follow up with them. If it’s a bigger job, tell them you are having a special and if they book by a certain day they can earn 5% to 10% off. That will get their attention.

I usually follow up once and then let it go. I always try to feel out if they want to send photos or not. If not we just go take a look.
