Commercial gutter cleaning

Hey guys I’m fairly new to gutter cleaning I added that as one of my add-on Services I had to call on this place it’s a commercial building they want me to use a scissor lift to clean the gutters what would be a fair price the lift is $150 a day

Of corse the scissor lift cost should be covered. Otherwise my starting price is approx.$1 per foot. This is for residential though. I increase my price according to expected difficulty. Are there gaurds? How difficult are the gaurds to work with? How much of a hassle will it be to get the scissor lift? Those are questions I would ask myself.

This is the place … Only 3 sides have gutters I met with them and quoted it at 600$ she was happy with that as the last 3 ppl didnt show because it is a rather difficult job and the back of the building is bad and has a few small trees growing from the gutters and the landlord wants it done immediately

Does this roof look like it can be walked I took a look and its aluminum sheetes over a steel frame… Never done one like this and im confident Once I start I will figure it out but any input would be very helpful

Can’t really say about walking on the roof without being there. I’ve worked on some buildings like that and I have to be mindful of stepping only where there are supports. Beware of skylights if there are any. They are sometimes just plastic sheeting that you can fall right through. You should be able to see them plenty well enough. Just work smart and safe.

I am just starting out, I too offer gutter cleaning, Thank you for that insight on asking if there are guards or not. I never thought about guards. I was thinking 1$ a foot for my price as well, so at least I see I am in the right range. Thank you

@MrVan Some gaurds work really well but most are just a pain in my rear. Sometimes you can spray through the gaurds and wash everything down the downspout but most of the time I end up having to remove and replace, depending on the style of gaurds, it can go quickly or add tons of time to your job.

Biggest part I think is simply getting used to it. I say $1 foot for a base price, but I really don’t measure anymore, I can usually look the job and figure about how long it’s gonna take.

Lol, unless they’re frozen! I won’t work on them frozen anymore! @TheWindowCleanse I used a rip claw hammer to split the ice into chunks and it was going pretty well until I moved my ladder and noticed I was punching holes through the gutter! Fun stuff!
