Can you get electrocuted from solar panel cleaning

Still working to add solar panel cleaning and thinking about introducing it to my janitorial company just wondering does the panel system need to be turned off and what’s the chances of the person holding the water fed pole getting electrocuted.

In addition to my cleaning business, on my down time, I work with my father in law as an electrician and plumber. I’m no expert on solar panels but when I’ve cleaned them, I’ve noticed where there are high voltage boxes labeled. When you come to this, you should use the same caution as power lines and meter boxes. It does contain plenty enough power to drop you dead. While cleaning though, keep in mind that the panels are designed to be out in the weather, as long as your just cleaning the panels you should be fine. I’ve cleaned plenty with no issues. Use common sense, do a little research, and be careful.
I would recommend to do a walk around to inspect that there is no exposed wiring.

Nothing to do with solar but I work on a meter box today that basically exploded. The snow piled up on a rooftop pushing a main line connection onto the metal conduit. It shorted out and energized the whole meter box. If we had touched the box, it potentially could have killed us. Don’t want to scare you, just want you to be aware to look for anything out of place. Exposed wires, burn marks etc…
