Business name

Hello everybody, I wanted to get everyone’s opinion. My name is Keith. The name of my company is Fresh & Klean. The reason I chose this name because it is a phrase I use pretty often. If I am looking real sharp, I’m fresh and clean! Lol. I spelled Klean with a K because of my first name. I thought it added a nice personal touch. I think it is a good name for a window cleaning company. I want honest feedback from anyone willing to comment. Do I have a good company name in your opinion?
Thank you guys!

Ultimately it is your business. With an older audience, they may not take your business seriously even if the name is catchy (cool name by the way), due to the fact it would look like you are not taking pride in the correct spelling of the business (even though I know you are serious.) That doesn’t mean you will never succeed because of that one thing. Quite the opposite actually, its ethics and your ability to sell and close that makes the difference. Also of course the delivery of the service.

If it was a made up word, that would be different. Look at a bunch of successful business names, I promise you most of them, have correct spelling. I mean you wouldn’t go out and advertise your business as Fressssssssssh and Kleannnnnnn right?

General rule I was told by successful business owners, if someone has a hard time pronouncing your business name or spelling it, then it’s not a good name. How would people refer your business to their friends in person if they can’t even identify you correctly.

This gets into why branding is important. I know I might have said before your name or logo you use doesn’t matter…kind of. When you are starting out you are just putting stuff together to appear more professional, eventually there is a motif or theme to your business. When you are branding successfully, well people recite a commercials catch phrase or they identify easier with certain colors or symbols. For my catch phrase, I literally had someone approach me in the street and point at me and say “That’s M-E-Y-E-R-S.” To which I responded “That’s R-I-G-H-T.”

Successful branding should communicate your mission statement and values through your actions.

The name is fine. Like @Jacob said you may run into folks asking about the spelling. I ran into that with “knight window cleaning”. With our new brand Luke The Window Cleaner …very easy to remember, spell ect. I think the simpler the better.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that I wouldn’t know what you do from just the name alone. Could be a car wash, janitorial company, window cleaner, etc. I like when window cleaning is in the name so people know exactly what you do.

Great point!

Nice name @KJWindows. As for the name of your business directly pertaining to your service or services, to me that’s not a deal breaker. A good friend of mine, his business is called EverClear Property Services. A long name I know. He mainly does window washing but does add ons like gutters, pwashing, etc. My company name is Freshly Squeeged, implying I wash windows, but that’s not all I do. I get tons of calls about gutter cleaning, pressure washing and chandelier cleaning, all of which my company name does not imply.

Look at Geico – no where in that name does it imply they offer insurance, yet…

So when I think of Fresh and Clean, I’m thinking of a service that was just provided, ala fresh, and the result of the service, clean!

I think your business name is great. It directly links you to cleaning, not just windows but also allows you to diversify into other areas if you so desire. The K adds a personal touch to you as the owner operator. It also tells the client what the end result will be.

All I’m thinking of is the Outkast song lol
