6 story building

What kind of waterfed system would be recommended for a 6 story buildingScreenshot_2018-10-21-11-23-48

One with a pump on it for sure. We have the IPC Eagle and love it, no problems, absolutely none in the 7 years we’ve had it. There are many on the market now to choose from, a lot depends on how much you want to spend.

When do you need a pump for a WFP? Is it when buildings get too high or the tubing is too long?

You need a pump when you get over 3 or 4 stories, or when there’s poor water pressure out of the spigot.

Are the pumps easy to use and install? Also which ones would you suggest?

I have a rhg 90 psi pump. Pretty easy to set up. Never really had to use it. But nice to have for jobs like posted above.

Unless you’re going over three stories high, regular water pressure from tap should be fine. Really depends on your location and water company. Here where I live it’s 65-80 psi so no problem for a couple of stories. Some WFP carts have the option to add a pump onto it for extra $$$. Or you can buy a pump by itself, whether plug in type or battery. The one @Luke has is pretty good pump you can buy that does not go onto your cart, it’s a separate piece of equipment. So if you don’t plan to go to high you might not even need a pump, oh there are some hacks on YouTube to build your own for $200-250.

Excellent answers everyone. Thank you for the input. This is something that was concerning to me especially since its not a topic I touched upon before.

Several folks at the HUGE said that if you need to you can use DI only for higher pole work and thus not needing to add equipment or pumps. If it is one time cleaning maybe DI only and then you can prep for repeat work if the customer is happy?

Good luck on that 6 story job
