Door Hangers

Again though, along with the creative and unique approaches, you need a certain attitude as well otherwise it will backfire. Some people I even acknowledged before with a no soliciting sign

“I understand there’s a sign, soliciting means I’m asking you for something. I don’t want anything from you today, I’m just passing out flyers. You are welcome to refuse.”

Some require a bit more finesse and it depends on the owner, if you can joke with them, it will at least put you in a position to hear you out. Which requires timing too. In the summer I will see homeowners wash their car, and I will say “Hey is this the free car wash? Can I pull up my car here too?”

I have got a laugh out of that and closed a deal before and there was a soliciting sign. Also now they are good customers of mine. Yes, it can be done.

It’s only impossible because you haven’t done it yet.

Thank you for all the advice & feedback as it was crucially helpful…sorry, for the delayed response but I’ve been busy cleaning windows and gutters…I needed to share my results so far & I needed to get more info on gutter cleaning season pricing & offers.

I made the suggested change to my offer (@Jacob suggested…thank you sir!) started off the $99 for 10 windows In & out offer for a month to get business in, get some reviews, earn credibility & get the word out that I’m here…it worked and I have earned over $5k in less than 2 months part-time, 10 plus 5-Star reviews on Google, FB & Yelp & now I get calls from google search, yelp search, door hanger response & referrals…“If you build it, they will come if you tell them”.

Everybody has different situations at home so being part of a community is a must bc we can’t do life or business on our own. What I mean by situation is for example, I have 3 girls (2, 6, 14) and my wife is a middle school SPED teacher so I take & pu 2 of them during the week to 2 different schools and my wife the other (and the many things in between). We stay busy & my time to work is limited but with a process, a way to get the word out (i.e. door hangers, website, social media), your offer (WIIFM- what’s in it for me), & proof of work to include reviews, the fruits of your labor will start to show.

I am sharing this not to brag but it’s my testimony which I hope will encourage others who are starting out just like me.

P.S> I can’t wait to get a pure waterfed system!

I hope everyone is doing well.

@HartmannWGC EXCELLENT WORK! We will have to chat on a call sometime and you have to walk me through what happened on each account. 5k in less than 2 months is excellent.

Now I am going to save you a ton of headaches and tell you that gutter guards are very challenging. If they are not installed correctly, personally my experience right now would be not to mess with properly uninstalled gutter guards. However, someone told me…yes you can either have them screwed or unscrewed. Screwed ones are harder to deal with, but it seemed like a lot of problems when they were sealed on the top of the lip of the gutter AND screwed in underneath the shingle. Basically I would have to rip apart the shingle to get the guard out at the last job and it was a nightmare.

If its the type of guard that the guard goes under near the lip of the gutter and under the shingle and you can just slide it out clean the gutter than put it back in with no screws…charge double your normal non gutter guard price for cleaning gutters and clearing downspouts. I had a job where it was just screwed in on the lip…make sure if you do take them apart that they go in the correct order they were in or you can have screw holes that are not lined up correctly. I would charge more than double for screwed gutter guards.

Wearing gloves helps a bit, my hands are still cut up from picking stuff out after taking guards out. Now if they are regular guards, I start at 79.99 for first floor and I start at 99.99 for second floor but I’m bumping it up to 119.99.

Thanks bro! That seems to be too low on pricing…well I guess it depends on who your target is…many of the large ranch style/ single story homes so I think I’ll focus especially on them …what you think if I did “$100 off your next 1st Floor Gutter Cleaning” or more specifically “$199 for 1st Floor Gutter Cleaning up to 300 ft” on my next round of door hangers… This one is hard to do without just offering an amount off the service bc every house is usually so different from size, floors, amount of debris & with or w/out gutter guards. Thank you!

I found this site via Google for a Door Hanger template. Just joined and I actually started following @Luke on IG not too long ago. Love all of your door hanger designs. Quick question: Do you guys like the biz card rip at the bottom or the DH by itself? I’m about to design these babies and I am debating on which ones to use.
